Pro/NC provides manufacturing engineers and job shops with NC programming capabilities and tooling libraries to create, check, and optimize 3-axis milling, 2 to 4 axis turning, and wire EDM. Extending the full associativity of Pro/ENGINEER into manufacturing enables users to work side by side with designers and automatically incorporate design changes. Milling, Turning, Wire EDM, and Advanced Machining- Provides Numerical Control programming capabilities for Pro/ENGINEER. It works directly with Pro/ENGINEER solid part model or with imported geometry. Supports a wide variety of machining methodologies. The machining is associative to both the design part and the stock. Also, it recognizes fixtures, chucks, and holders.

Sheetmetal- allows NC programming to design tool paths for turret punch presses and contouring laser/flamer machines. Semi-automated tool path creation references designer's punch and form features. Tool paths for parts need only to be produced once, and users can customize the program. Dynamic True Shape Auto Nesting provides the highest sheet utilization to reduce scrap and material costs, enabling shorter lead times to allow manufactures to advance from push bulk production system, to a pull order driven system. Machine Simulation- permits users to perform a realistic 3D simulation of an NC machine, driven by the control. The program offers accurate and complete collision detection for all machine applications.

Pro/MFG will create the data necessary to drive a NC machine tool to machine a Pro/ENGINEER part. It does this by providing the tools to allow the manufacturing engineer follow a logical sequence of steps to progress from a design model to ASCII CL data files that can be post-processed into NC machine data.
